Pan-African Journal Continues Special Worldwide Radio Broadcasts on Black August 2011

Tune in to the Pan-African Journal for part III of the ongoing broadcast series on the legacy of Black August. This annual commemoration acknowledges the tradition and culture of resistance among African people in the United States and around the world.

This week's program will feature the regular Pan-African News Wire reports examining recent developments in Libya, Britain, Somalia, Palestine, Egypt and the United States. Special guest Norman Otis Richmond of Toronto, the founder of the Diasporic Music radio program, will be calling in during the first half-hour.

The program is dedicated to George Jackson (1941-1971) whose 40th anniversary of martyrdom will be recognized. Jackson was killed on August 21, 1971 by prison authorities in California. He was a revolutionary theorist and Field Marshall of the Black Panther Party.
